VILLAGE CABALLITO OPENING

In November 2005, Village Cinemas opened 9 new theatres in its new complex, Caballito.
Caballito had very limited space for the construction of a theatre complex. By using a unique architectural design, they were able to build nine world class theatres with state-of-the-art stadium seating. The complex contains a nice shopping mall and food court. Xenon Servicios installed the theatre projection and sound systems. Xenon also was responsible for the design and installation of a multi-zone paging and background music system.

IMAX en Showcase Center Norte OPENING

In May 2006, National Amusements opened a new Imax theatre in Center Norte. The first IMAX 3D theatre in South America, Xenon Servicios was involved in many aspects of the installation.

Imax is a special venue projection system which uses a 70mm 15 perf film frame that runs horizontally in a projector specially designed for this format. The film frame is ten times larger than 35mm film frame, allowing for incredible sharpness and detail on a large screen.

The system installed can play 3D movies by running two films simultaneously, each film being projected through a polarizing glass. The audience uses polarized glasses, so each eye receives a different image causing the 3D effect. The installed screen is 65 x 85 feet. Once installed, it was coated with a special aluminized paint using a robotics system. The projector utilizes two 15Kw xenon bulbs for its light source, one lamp for each film. The whole system is managed by a computer control system. A digital audio soundtrack is played in sync from a hard disk. Seven audio channels distributed inside the theatre with a total of 14,000 watts. Imax produces their own films as well as adapting commercial movies to their format.

50 YEARS OF OSRAM XBO !!

In 1965 Xenon Servicios installed the first XBO installation in the Opera Theatre in Argentina, succesfully representing Osram XBO since then !!
